March Wrap Up

Whew! How is March over with already? Although I can’t say that I’m sorry it’s just about done with, with everything going on. I, like many other people, am patiently waiting for the news that the Coronavirus is no longer a constant threat to us, and that we are on the other side of things. But until then, I’ll be over here, washing my hands and avoiding people the best I can!

But, talking about Corona isn’t a topic I really want to beat to death any more than the next person (but for real, quit fucking hoarding the toilet paper and sanitizing products, everyone!) so I’ll move on to recap March since I was pretty quiet here on the blog.

First, a quick recap of my plans for the month. I was going to eat really healthy and workout! Guess what? That DID NOT happen. At least the working out part. Roughly three days after making that post, I tweaked something in my back. It made it painful to sit, stand, or walk for close to a week and a half. It gradually got better, and when I took a vacation week last week I managed to get out for a couple of runs to test it out. I did a couple of two-mile out and backs at the park, and my back felt pretty good after both of them, so I’m looking forward to adding running back in slowly.

I also spent a lot of the nicer days outside with my dogs! My oldest puppers turn 14(ish) so of course, we had a little birthday party.

And we got our next little project in!

We decided to try our hand at raising some chickens. While it isn’t an issue since I’ve mostly been buying my meat from Whole Foods, there are times when I’ve gotten chicken that just doesn’t chew right. It has a very rubbery, crunchy text to it and it is awful to try to eat. So, we decided to give this a try, and it will be reassuring to know what went into our chickens and how well they will be taken care of. I really like knowing where my food comes from!

I also ordered and received a FabFitFun box, and I’m excited to share my review on the products I received in it next month after I’ve had some time to use them! So keep your eyes peeled for that post.

And lastly, I cooked a TON! Especially since most of the restaurants are closed or doing carry out only, we’ve been eating everything at home. I made pretzel rolls, cinnamon rolls, a spicy garlic shrimp dish, and then one afternoon I smoked ribs and brats for the guys while they roughed the plumbing in for the shop!

I reposted some travel content for you guys, that I had previously posted on my old blog. I will be working on moving some older posts over as time goes on. Honestly, even though the weather here is starting to warm up and things are starting to green up and bloom, I will forever miss Hawai’i! One of my life dreams is to own a property there so that we can vacation there whenever we want and not have to worry about accommodations. Gotta put that on the long-term goal list!

So, that pretty much wraps up March! I’m planning some good stuff for April, and like all of you, waiting for the green light that we will soon be free to move about the country again!
